How Carelis handles patient data.

Carelis is software licensed to laboratories. The patient data inside a laboratory's installation belongs to that laboratory, which is the controller of it. We process it on their instruction.

What is stored

Whatever the laboratory enters: patient identity, orders, results, reports, and the audit record of who did what.

Where

On infrastructure in India unless a laboratory has contracted otherwise.

Who can reach it

Staff the laboratory has given accounts to.

Our own staff have no standing access. A support session is opened deliberately, needs a written reason, expires by itself, and is read-only unless the laboratory has granted write access from its own screen — where it can also set an end date and withdraw it at any moment, which ends any session running on it immediately.

Every session appears in the laboratory's own audit trail, with who, when, why, and whether they could change anything.

Retention

We do not delete a laboratory's records. Retention rules differ by state and by the kind of record, and a system that quietly removed a report because a setting said so would be worse than one that keeps everything.

A laboratory can export all of its data at any time and remove what it is required to remove, on its own terms.

See it on your own tests.
